Section 1: Preparing your foundation materials

Preparing your foundation materials is the key to starting a successful job search. Doing so will give you a leg up on the competition, as having an organized and well thought out plan will demonstrate your commitment and enthusiasm for the job. Here are five steps to take when preparing your foundation materials:
1. Understand what experience and skills you bring to the table, and create a resume that highlights these items. Your resume should be tailored to each job you apply for, making sure to emphasize all relevant experience and skills so that potential employers can easily see how you would be an asset to their team.
2. Learn how to write a powerful cover letter that clearly communicates why you are the best candidate for the job. Your cover letter should be concise yet compelling – it should include enough detail about what makes you uniquely qualified for this position so that employers remember you after reading it.
3. Develop your own personal value proposition, which helps potential employers understand how you would be an asset to their team. Think of it as a summary of yourself; it should highlight what sets you apart from other applicants and showcase why hiring managers need to hire you!
4. Create a campaign management worksheet to track job applications and keep your search organized. This should include columns such as the date applied, company name, position applied for, contact details of recruiters or hiring managers, status of application (e.g., waiting for response), follow-up dates (e.g., when did you send in a thank-you note?), etc., so that nothing slips through the cracks during your search process.
5 Finally build a list of follow up techniques so that you can stay in touch with recruiters and/or hiring managers throughout your search process – this could include sending thank-you notes after interviews or even following up with potential employers if they haven’t responded yet.. By taking these steps before beginning your job search, not only will it make organizing everything much easier but it will also set yourself apart from other applicants by demonstrating both dedication and enthusiasm towards finding success in your career path!
